Windsward
You can get fae iron by mining iron nodes with a pickaxe tool. The drop chance for fae iron is extremely low and in order to get a higher % chance you will need to get luck.
Another super secret way to get fae iron is by killing the hortus bears at Ursus Hortus marked as #9 in our Weaver's Fen map. Instead of skinning, these hortus bears will require you to use a pickaxe on them and they have higher chance of giving you fae iron.

New World's max level is currently 60, gathering and trade skills are capped at level 200. For more information on experience points required for each level, see our guide: How much xp needed for leveling?
One of the most requested features people ask about is if New World will add mounts. Currently there is nothing to indicate that mounts will be added to the game. Things can always change down the line so stay tuned!
Question: Can I try new world for free?
Answer: Currently no more betas are scheduled and the game launches on September 28, 2021. The only way to try New World out will be to use steam and to make sure you do not go over 2 hours playtime. If you do not go over 2 hours, you can then use steams refund policy.
Question: Is New World MMO Free?
Answer: No, its buy to play! You can purchase the game from amazon or steam.
Amazon game studios announced New World during TwitchCon in September of 2016. So we can speculate the game has in developement for at least 5 years. New World officially launches Sept 28, 2021.
Amazon uses lumberyard as the game engine for New World.
When can I preload New World game so I can be ready for game launch?
Answer: You will be able to download the game client as a preload from steam on September 27, at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET.
This is the location of Tekla's Book also known as Tekla's Brooch for the quest called "What Came Before" from New World.

If you are doing a town board quest that needs you to acquire nightcrawler bait then your best bet to obtaining it will be from searching for and looting flint you find on the ground. Here is what flint looks like and how it can give you nightcrawler bait time to time.
You will start to lose experience points gains when you are fighting enemies that are 10 levels lower then your current characters level on New World.

If you are doing a town project that requires fish filet to complete, you will need to go fishing. Once you go fishing and get certain types of fish, some of them can be salvaged for fish filet.

Quick guide on where to find oil in New World. You need to have at least level 20 in mining to harvest this resource. The best place to get oil is from the various seeping stone nodes found in Weaver's Fen. Here is a map of the oil spots in Weaver's Fen, note the black dots are seeping stone locations.

The last way to get oil is by randomly getting lucky with supply crates that you can find around the various landmarks in all the regions. You may need to be in areas with higher level monsters of around 25 and up. Use our territories by level guide to get a idea of the best region.
